The Awards Ceremony of “Marine Engineering of the Year (Dokou Memorial Award) 2019” was held in Tokyo.

J-ENG has announced that the awards ceremony of “Marine Engineering of the Year 2019 (Dokou Memorial Award)※” was held at Kaiun Club, Tokyo, on Sept. 25, 2020 co-sponsored by Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers, The Japan Institute of Marine Engineering, and Japan Institute of Navigation. In the ceremony “MGO mono-fuel UEC-LSJ Engine”, co-developed by J-ENG and Onomichi Dockyard Co., Ltd with the support of The Nippon Foundation, was awarded.

J-ENG will keep forwarding to realize a sustainable society and working actively about alternative fuels.

※Marine Engineering of the Year (Dokou Memorial Award) was founded to praise outstanding marine engine, equipment and related marine technology in the field of marine engineering.

※UEC-LSJ Diesel engine was developed and designed to use only MGO(Marine Gas Oil), which complies with not only SOx emission regulations started from Jan. 2020 but also NOx regulations and EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) requirement, to cope with all the environmental regulations. The unique water stratified injection system has a flexibility of bio-fuel application and was appreciated to contribute realization of a de-carbonized society.
