Renewal of License and Technical Assistance Agreement for UE engine with Zhejiang Yungpu Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. (China)
Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG) has recently agreed to renew the License and Technical Assistance Agreement for UE engine with its Chinese Licensee, Zhejiang Yungpu Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. (YDE: Ningbo, China).
YDE started with the manufacture of the UEC33LSII type engine, and as a single licensee of UE engine, YDE has so far received orders of about 70 units of UE engines and shipped more than 40 units for coastal vessels (Small bulk carriers, Tankers, LPG carriers, Container ships, etc.) sailing along the coasts and rivers of China.
In recent years, YDE has contributed to the expansion of sales of small UE engines in the Chinese market, such as the World's first production and market launch of the UEC33LSH-C2 type engine which is the latest engine.
YDE is also showing its presence as a private engine builder in China's low-speed marine engine industry, where competition is fierce.
In addition, YDE has contributed to the cultivation and localization of the Chinese supply chain in the continuous production of UE engines, and has steadily achieved results in expanding the UE market share in the rapidly growing Chinese market.
YDE has a large backlog of orders for 2023 and beyond, and J-ENG will use this renewal of the License Agreement as an opportunity to deepen its strong partnership with YDE, and will push forward aiming for further growth and leap of UE engine.
